Doula mentoring Testimonials

Amanda helped me as a peer support (mentor) for my doula questions and student midwife questions. I reached out to her because I saw her youtube video on midwifery school life. It was a shot in the dark for me to email her because I didn't know if she would reply back since she didn't know me and I was across the country. To my delighted surprise, Amanda reached out via telephone to offer her insight on my plight and helped guide me through my questions about school life and apprenticeship questions. She also gave great guidance on starting out as a doula. I would highly recommend Amanda for Doula and Student Midwifery mentorship to anyone that is new to the field or even a birth professional who just needs an informative support to bounce ideas off of.

Amanda was our teacher for the Evidence on Newborn Procedures class and she was AMAZING! She is super friendly and you can tell she loves what she does. I'm a new doula and she welcomed me (and a few others) with open arms to her class.
I truly enjoyed all the information she gave us, it was very well thought presentation.

I could tell Your Birth Team really do their research for the information. Amanda was prepared and she totally made the class fun! She always braught snacks for us to enjoy while she went through her presentation. The class was about 2 hours but it honestly didn't feel that long because how fun and energetic everyone was! I highly recommend this class! I learned so much from it!

I am a birth professional in the OC area and Amanda has been nothing short of incredible! She is always warm, inclusive, and helpful. I have attended her Evidence Based Birth workshop (and will attend more in the future) and she is a wealth of knowledge... definitely a good investment!

I reached out to Amanda for support after a really challenging birth. I had seen her posts in doula forums on Facebook and felt like she always had compassionate responses. We chatted for about an hour and I can honestly say I had no idea how helpful mentoring would be prior to the session. Amanda was really good at making space for my thoughts and feelings to just flow, but also had really great questions that helped me reflect on what I could change in my business in the future.

Since that first call, I have used Amanda's mentoring services two other times in video chat form. She is also punctual and makes an effort to truly get to know me and the way I doula with families. I also never felt any judgment from her, which is something I struggle with as a gay doula of color in a rural area. She helped me figure out who to market my services to and how to connect with them in easy ways. I thought I would need to take an advertising class or something, but I saw my business grow over a couple months just from making a few simple changes to how I was handling myself. So grateful Amanda is available and I hope to connect again soon when I look at midwifery schools.
